We are a young family and we want to sail away with our yacht BAJKA to see the world. Here you can find how everything started.
“My name is Lukas and I’m a sailor since ever. As a junior sailor in the 420 and later as a professional in the 470 I sailed together with my crew Simon. We represented Switzerland in the olympic Games in Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 and we got 9 times Swiss National Champion. Later I sailed with Chrigi regattas in Switzerland and abroad. Together we organised the first Zurich Climate Sailing Regatta. As an engineer in micro engineering I’m working at Sonova AG (former Phonak AG) and I’m contributing to the latest hearing instrument software.”
Ela, My sailing adventure began with the lecture “The effect of wind on a yacht”, to which I had taken with my big sister. Then I spent many hours sailing on the nearby lake and passed the inshore sailing certificate. I just wanted to sail more and more. At the beginning in the Mazury and the Bay of Gdansk, then with the offshore certificate always distant waters: The Baltic and North Sea fairly cool, the Mediterranean and Ionian Sea rather warm. But I have always been dreaming of a big journey through the Pacific, in particular past Galapagos.
Nael likes swimming, climbing and likes to play with the Brio train. He first observes before he tries out new things. On our boat he keeps look-out.
Paulo is our cuddle-Giraffe. When he heard about our blue water sailing plans, he immediately put on his life jacket and has been ready for sailing.
Ilian loves animals, nature and water. Wherever he is there is something going on. He is open to new and unknown. He is our discoverer.
